Neetside Trustees were pleased to make a donation to the Friends of the Earth towards the Community Orchard whichthey have planted in the green in front of the Centre.
A £100 cheque was presented to us from Sainsburys in Bude in November 2016. This money was used to set up a knitting group making Twiddlemuffs for dementia sufferers. We had a great group of volunteers who either came to the twice a month group or knitted them at home for us. Over 50 twiddlemuffs were made and some of these have already gone out to various places, Bude Memory Cafe, Cornwall Care, care homes and individual people. If you know somebody who could benefit from one of these please contact us on 353403 or pop in.
A celebration event was held to say farewell and thank you to retiring staff, Centre Manager Sue Lamble and Administrator Geoff Turney, on Friday 24th October 2014. Both Sue and Geoff both worked for many years at the Centre and built it up to be the successful Community Centre it is today.
Gifts were presented to show everyone’s appreciation of the duo. They will be much missed.
A big thank you to Awards for All who gave us a grant of £5000 towards the upgrade of the lift, which has now been completed and is working great.
